SPINS
General.
The Special Instructions (SPINS) provide numerous information and procedures to all assets operating within the area of operations. Examples of SPINS content may include:
- Airspace usage procedures
- Communications procedures
- Tanker procedures
- Rules of Engagement (ROE)
- Identification criteria
- Acceptable Level of Risk (ALR)
- Emission Control (EMCON) levels
- Guidance/directives/information for weapons system operators and/or aircrews
- Base Defense Zone (BDZ) procedures
- Personnel recovery procedures
Section I – Daily SPINS.
Section I – Daily SPINS is used for inputs which do not/are not intended to affect the standing general SPINS. This section include all information only required by the ATO and ACO it is published with.
Section II – Daily SPINS.
Section II – Daily SPINS is used for changes, additions, and/or deletions to the standing general SPINS.
Section III – Standing SPINS.
Section III – Standing SPINS is the portion of SPINS which contains the general SPINS for the theatre/area of operations.
