Course Description
1.1 Course Title - 75th vFS Inital Qualification Training
1.2 Course Objective - To graduate pilots and weapon systems officers (WSO) with a basic understanding of fighter fundamentals. The emphasis is on developing wingman responsibilities, situational awareness, judgment/decision making, and crew coordination/flight integrity. Commanders should graduate only those students who have demonstrated the potential to complete fighter training in an increasingly complex environment. Students who reach the limits of their ability in the tasks introduced in IFF should not continue in the fighter training program without remedial training.
1.3 General Description - This course is the transition course between vUSAF Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (SUPT), vEuro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT), or vUSAF T-38 Transition Course and fighter formal training units (FTUs). The course provides four specialized training tracks based on follow-on training assignments:
- Track A - F-15C
- Track B - F-15E, F-16
- Track C - A10
- Track D - WSO F-15E, EA-6B
- Track E - Consolidated Fast Track
1.4 Location - 469th vFS, Nellis AFB
1.5 Duration - 40 Training Days
1.6 Course Entry Prerequisites
- IFF student pilots will be graduates of either T-38C SUPT, USAF T-38C Transition Course, or enrolled in the T-38C Conversion course. May be wavier IAW 455 vAEW Instruction.
- 455th vAEW Wing Orientation Completed.
1.7 Status Upon Completion - Graduates are qualified to attend fighter formal training courses (FTU/B-Courses).
- Specifically, pilot graduates will be proficient in all basic conversion, emergency, formation, and instrument tasks. Depending on the flying track, pilots will also be proficient in the following air-to-air and air-to-ground tasks:
(1) Offensive BFM (OBFM) Track A and B
(2) Defensive BFM (DBFM) Track A, B, and C
(3) High Aspect BFM (HABFM) Track A
(4) Surface Attack (SA) Track B and C
(5) Low Altitude Operations Track C - WSO graduates will have a basic understanding of the air-to-air and air-to-ground tactical environment and
will be proficient in primary WSO tasks.
