Description
Prior to beginning ACM-1C students should have completed OB-1C and HB-1C should exhibit sufficient contract knowledge, formation, and BFM proficiency, to operate within a 3-Ship formation.
ACM-1C is a consolidated syllabus ride which introduces students to basics of Air Combat Maneuvering and the team nature of tactical employment. Students should attempt to prepare ahead of the sortie by completing prerequisite academics and IPs should check knowledge for accuracy and assumptions. These preparation skills will be necessary in subsequent 455th vAEW courses.
The defensive perch exercises are utilized as an initial steppingstone towards more advanced and dynamic exercises and primarily serve as an exposure point to assess contract knowledge. (HAACM has been removed from the syllabus requirements for the purposes of IFF.)
