FELON / SU-57
FELON / SU-57
The FELON is equipped with the N-036-1-01 XXXXXXX look-down shoot-down AESA radar. Additionally, two cheek mounted NO36B-1-01 AESA side looking radars provide coverage to the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. The airplane is also equipped with the 101KS-P Missile approach warning system, and a passive 101KS-V IRST. The onboard self-defensive suites consist of CMDS and EW.

Aerodynamic Handling
The SU-57 possesses excellent slow speed handling qualities and is capable of better turn and high AOA performance than the F-
16 below 250 knots. Acceleration at low speeds is quick due to the high thrust of the engines, and the aircraft is more than a match for the F-16 in the slow speed regime.

Strengths and Weaknesses
This airplane is considerably more capable than legacy 4th generation threats. The FELON combines supermaneuvrability, supercruise, stealth, large payload capacity, and advanced avionics and systems. Furthermore, recent developments highlight an emerging Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program.
Countertactics
In the WVR arena, the SU-57 is a very capable opponent with the supermaneuvrability (high AOA) HMS/AA-11 combination. Even in less than capable hands, this combination can bring about rapid grief to most Western fighters. IRCM tactics will obviously be in order here to deny the front quarter AA-11 shot, but you should be aware that a shot can be taken in excess of 120° off boresight. Whenever possible, you should avoid engaging the SU-57.
